This gift set combines many unique items that are sure to put a smile on any women's face. They feature genuine buffalo hide leather ballet moccasin slippers made in Canada by Bastien Industries. These slippers are lightweight and perfect for women who like a minimalist style moccasin that is unlined. They can also be used outdoors in the spring and summer as earthing shoes. These ballet slippers come in a nice earth tone, tobacco brown color. Combined with these ladies ballet slippers is a porcelain mug and pair of polyester socks featuring the artwork of a Native American artist. The artwork featured on the mug and socks is "Leaf Dancer" by Maxine Noel a Canadian Sioux Native artist. Be sure to select the correct size of moccasin and socks for this gift set. These ladies moccasins fit the same as your regular shoe size, for half sizes order down to the nearest full size. (8 ½ or size 8).
These traditional women's moccasins are hand-crafted by a Native American company called Bastien Industries. (member of the Indian Arts & Crafts Association) They are a family business offering authentic, 100% Canadian Huron-Wendat First Nation products, produced with the utmost respect for traditional crafting techniques. Located north of Québec City, in Wendake, they have been manufacturing superb authentic Indian moccasins since 1972.
Ioyan Mani - "to walk beyond" - is Maxine's Sioux name that reveals her gift. Maxine is Oglala Sioux, born on the Birdtail Reservation in Manitoba. The eldest of eleven children, she learned to draw among a loving family on a quiet reserve. In residential school she experienced the struggles of submersion of the native spirituality and culture, which brought her strength and enrichment. Maxine was appointed in 2019 as a member of the Order of Canada for her work as a visual artist and for encouraging and promoting creative expression in Indigenous communities.

A self-taught artist, Maxine is skilled in many media. She seeks through the use of fluid images, flowing lines and subtle colours, to present essential characteristics of the Native people: their sensibilities, generosity and loving nature. Maxine has received honours and accolades for her work with Native cultures, and she speaks around the country on art and on social issues, assisting in bridging the gap between Native and non-Native, young and old.

Maxine was a recipient of the Order of Canada in 2019 for her notable achievements.
