Eugene Cloutier Inc., has been manufacturing moccasins, slippers and boots since 1945. Three generations of artisans have perfected their know-how and diversified their production, devoted to one unique art: the fashioning of leather and hide. The moccasins, boots and accessories, inspired by indian art, are hand crafted out of leather, suede or wild moose hide. Each creation answers to its mission: for outdoor or indoor use, for the traditional snowshoe walk, by the fireside or for daily activities. Laurentian Chief/Eugene Cloutier takes pride in their moose hide moccasins and slippers: appearance, softness to the touch and incomparable suppleness. Laurentian Chief is their trade mark. Eugene Cloutier Inc. is established in Saint-Emile, in the northern suburbs of Quebec city. They employ about thirty workers at the factory and as much from their homes for certain finishing touches. They are pleased to be significantly contributing to the economic growth in their corner of the world. Laurentien Chief offers superb traditional Indian style products and their top priority is quality which you can see in the craftsmanship of all of their handmade apparel.
