How to Care for Your Product
Here you will find information on how to properly care for the products you buy from Moccasins Canada.
Protect We suggest applying a good quality leather spray to any type of leather, suede or sheepskin to add longevity and to create a water resistance. We recommend TANA All Protector spray.
Be aware not to spray any fur trimming on your mukluks or moccasins as the fur contains its own natural protective oils.
Clean
There are a variety of ways to clean your leather, suede and sheepskin. Listed below are different methods for each material.
Moose Hide & Deerskin (only): Moose hide and deerskin get more beautiful as they age. The natural oils from our hides enhance the beauty of these leathers. Do not be alarmed at any first sight of markings or wear. Ink from pens are permanent and be aware of those brand new jeans you bought as the dye will come off onto your new handbag. Refer to the washing instructions of heavily dyed garments that you may own.
When hand-washing your item, fully emerge it in a cold water bath in a sink. Use a mild soap or detergent, the same kind you would use for a delicate item of clothing. Hand wash the item, rinse it well with cold water. To machine wash your item, set your washing machine to the delicate or gentle cycle. Cold water must be used with a small amount of mild soap or detergent. It is a suggested to add similar colour items like towels into the same wash.
Leave the item to hang dry. You can place a towel in the item to speed up the drying process.
Suede: If your suede product has been treated using the TANA All Protector (mentioned above), any spills should be wiped with a damp cloth. For a more thorough cleaning you can purchase a suede cleaning kit that has a suede eraser and stiff brush.
If the product has not been protected and happens to get wet, remove the moisture with a clean towel. Do not use a blow dryer or heater. Once dry, restore the nap with a suede brush. A nail file or suede brush is effective in removing mud or scuff marks, as is the gentle application of softly textured sandpaper. Cowhide & Other Leathers (not mentioned above): If your cowhide products get wet or dirty they should only be cleaned or treated with products made specifically for leather shoes. We recommend Fiebing's All Purpose Leather Cleaner & Conditioner. After they're cleaned, let your leather moccasins sit for a few minutes and then shine them with a soft cotton cloth.
If you want your leather moccasins to age well, treat them regularly with a quality leather shoe conditioner. Your leather moccasins will absorb a natural conditioner easier than a synthetic one, and this will help keep your leather moccasins soft and properly moisturized.
Sheepskin: The outside of sheepskin is a form of suede and should be protected against water using product mentioned above. Clean the outer portion of your sheepskin product with a soft, damp cloth. A suede eraser can be used to treat scuff marks or dirt.
If your sheepskin product need to be washed, do so by using our Kookaburra Sheepskin Wash. The washing instructions come with the bottle. Let product dry naturally after washing, though you can use a towel to soak up excess moisture.
Fur Trim: The fur around your moccasin or mukluk can become dirty. The best way to clean the fur trim is to prepare a spray bottle of cold water and proceed to spray the fur lightly but be careful not to soak completely. Next, with an AIR setting on a hair dryer, gently dry the fur while fluffing the fur with your fingers. After leaving the fur to set, the fur should look fluffy and clean.
Fleece Lining: If you have sheepskin or fleece liners in your moccasins or slippers, some can be removed. If so, remove them regularly and hand wash using a non detergent soap (or cleaner mentioned above for sheepskin). Stretch them and lay flat to dry. If the liners are sewn to the leather, you can carefully wash the inside liners using a non-detergent soap. Dry in a warm place and condition the leather.
Freshen & Deodorize
Any natural shoe fresheners or deodorants can be used on the inside of your products to keep them smelling fresh, clean and bacteria free. We recommend Footlogix Shoe Deodorant Spray or TANA Shoe Freshener Sport. If you want to go all natural, just use baking soda. Pour a small amount of baking soda into the slippers or boots. Let the baking soda sit in the moccasins overnight and then shake out the baking soda the next day.

Everyday when I get home and take the dogs out for a walk these come straight on. They are so ridiculously comfortable even my dogs want to where them. Will be ordering more just to have a rotation. Truly really enjoy them.

Absolutely love these socks!! I am so SO glad that I took the chance on these, I am so pleased with them! I have a hard time finding socks that fit, that are comfortable and made with the materials I want in my socks. This variety pack held the PERFECT ones! I am a ladies 10-11 sized foot, wide, and I cannot seem to find socks that fit and are comfortable, anywhere. Until now. these are perfect at home slippers, warm and soft interior. Liked no hard sole aspect, feels much cozier--just dont plan to wear outside. size 10 felt fine for my medium wide, size 10-10.5 feet. Bead design also lovely and breaks up front, which in size 10 can look long!
Phenomenal slippers! My husband being wheelchair bound needed soft, all-natural “shoes”. These fit the bill. These will help prevent sores from developing because of the roomy soft design. We’ve gotten many compliments.
I purchased these in size 13 to replace my 20 year old HS Trask leather mocs. These mocs are beautiful, very comfortable, and fit perfectly without socks. Adding socks makes the fit a little tight, so if you like a loose fit you might want to go with a wide.

Great craftsmanship. Top piece is a little shorter than expected and takes some getting used to but definitely great if you need a quick slide on loafer.
I thought the charm was bigger it's so tiny you can barely see the charm where it says mama bear. The necklace is thin and fragile I'm unhappy 😔

I bought a pair of the moose hide leather fringed boots after searching for months for an ankle high outdoor boot. I normally wear a 10-10 1/2 depending on the style and sometimes even 11 from overseas vendors which I try to stay away from. Knowing the leather I went with a 10. The boots arrived and as I anticipated they were a "little" snug but after a day or so they loosened up and fit perfect. Like others have said it's like walking on a cloud, they are so comfortable, I love them. I would absolutely deal with this company again and their quality footwear. Wore them to our high school football game last night.
just received my pair of elk, moose, mocs. I'm a 12 B on the Brannock device. my little voice said, get a 13, so i did, they fit absolutely perfect. my foot is narrow, but the tow box has a nice snug feeling, the length is perfect. they look good, feel good. well pleased.

I have been wearing moccasins since making my first pair from a kit in 1958 then buying my first “ proper” pair in my first trip to Canada in 1990. I love the comfort and the feeling of having a unique hand made product with such heritage. My new moccasins are really well made and fantastic value and I cannot recommend them highly enough and thank moccasins Canada for their excellent service.

Received my Earthing Moccasins yesterday and I have not taken them off since taking them out of the box. The fit is spot on, and they are so soft on my feet. They are just a bit snug, which is what I was hoping for because they will stretch out. My only concern with these is that I might wear out the sole because I'm going to be wearing them so much! Do not hesitate - buy these moccasins.
