They have a durable, high-quality, extra-thick, long-lasting oil-tan sole, which is a dark brown colour. They do not have any foam insoles; instead, they have only two layers of leather. The soles become conductive when you walk on the Earth. These men's authentic Native American moccasins are handmade/sewn of genuine moose hide leather in Maple Tan colour.
Please note that you may notice a slight bleeding of the oil on the moose hide. This is entirely natural, as the moose hide will absorb some of the coloration from the oil-tan. These men's soft-soled outdoor moccasins feature rawhide laces for tightening, and the vamp is double-hand-stitched. We carry men's sizes 7-15 and recommend ordering the same size as your regular shoe size. If you wear a half size, order down to the next full size. (10 ½ order size 10)

Right out of the box you can tell how great the craftsmanship is plus smell of new leather too. I couldn't believe how just two layers of leather can feel some comfortable. The feel of Mother Nature under my feet was soothing. I recommend these moccasins to one and all.

Please pass on my sincere thanks to the Huron-Wendat, and Bastien. "Slippers"? Not so much. These are well crafted, trusted companions that I've worn on pine needled trails and granite cobbled beaches in Maine, across meadows and through forests of threading gnarled oak roots in Upstate New York (even in the late season when acorns pepper the trails (lol - ouch!)). Every step was worth it. When they're home, these mocs get cleaned, a thin beeswax waterproofing, and they're ready to go, even better than new. The moccasins are exactly what I wanted but fit narrow. After rubbing them in with mink oil and wearing them for several days they have stretched enough to feel comfortable with bear feet and light socks. Not sure how they will fit in winter with heavier socks or with the sheepskins insoles. Overall, very satisfied with the quality product.

I submit this image of the bottom of a recently purchased moccasin as evidence of how the 'earthing' principle works. Notice the early wear pattern on the bottom of the shoe... it's my feet and toes! The dark stain has begun to wear away where the actual contact with the ground is being made and reveals the lighter colored leather. Truly, one's feet and toes are making contact with the ground beneath through the supple leather. Amazing. Love it.

This is my third pair of moose hide slippers. They are ultra comfortable, wear really well, and look great. I have experimented with the soft sole Mose hide slipper and then the last pair I bought was one with the oil-tan sole. I got years of great service out of those slippers. If you wear them indoors only they will last for many years. I have used my last oil-tan soled pair a bit outside, and I still got lots of use out of them. I did just buy a pair of the rubber-soled bison hide slippers so I have a pair I can wear outdoors. I will now be able to only use these moose hide-slippers strictly indoors. My moose hide slippers have been fabulous purchases, they are soft but wear like iron, and I haven't found anything as comfortable in all seasons. Will I ever have to buy another pair of these household slippers?
I got these moose moccasins for my husband as they are his favorite. I believe the value of the moccasins is very good for the quality. The quality is long lasting. They are warm, for our area, so they are desirable. I highly recommend them for household use.

High quality leather & construction & stitching. Hide is thick & comfortably soft. For indoors, soles are initially slippery on flooring & carpet but become much less so quite soon & are very durable/ long wearing . My 1st pair of these - now a couple years old - are still in good shape. Recommend next size down if you are a 1/2 size. They work well with thin washable inner soles.

Excellent moccasins This is the second pair of moccasins I've purchased from Moccasins Canada. Both have been high quality. The pair I'm reviewing has the leather sole. I love them. The construction is very high quality. I haven't had them long enough to comment on longevity. Because I occasionally wear them out into the garage, they may not last as long as my previous pair. If you purchase moccasins with a leather sole, be careful with your first steps. They are slippery on a rug.

Happy Customer I received my new moccasins on time as per the estimated delivery date. I was replacing a similar pair that lasted me 30 plus years of which now have a hole through the bottom of one of them. The new pair felt a little narrow at the top of each moccasin when I first tried them on but the length was perfect. I figured that I would have to wear them for a bit as my last pair had certainly stretched over the years to the shape of my foot. I have been wearing the new pair for about 3 days now and they are amazing. Very comfortable and excellent quality. I am very happy with the quality of the moccasins and the process from ordering them to delivery was second to none.

A great find! During a comprehensive search on the web I came across mocs crafted by Native Americans. I remembered the great mocs my mother bought out west in the 1930s. Too big for her, I wore them out in my teens. They were soft soled and made by an Apache. Anyway, I selected the double soft soled moosehide mocs, size 12. They fit well and are very well constructed. The oil tanned outer sole seems to be replaceable. Unless you shuffle your feet on concrete every day, I can't imagine them wearing out. I wear mine everyday inside and in my yard and I can't wait to take them on my next camping trip. Thanks!
